Dr. May earned a PhD in clinical psychology from Michigan State University in 1992. He spent the first part of his career as an assessment and consultation center director where he supervised and trained other psychologists, conducted research, and served as an adjunct instructor with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
More recently Dr. May has focused more exclusively on providing outpatient psychotherapy and psychological assessment services to children, teens, families and adults. Dr. May approaches treatment with a dual focus of using cognitive and behavioral strategies to provide more immediate relief from psychological symptoms while also working to improve underlying emotional resilience and connection with others through insight-oriented techniques.
